VOA FOUNDATION MENTORING PROGRAM

Benefits of VOA Mentorship

VOA Mentorship, founded around our 5 values of leadership, passion, respect, empathy, and a drive for excellence, offers a transformative experience that goes beyond skill acquisition. It shapes individuals into well-rounded professionals who not only excel in their fields but also contribute positively to themselves, families, schools, workplaces and communities as responsible citizens. Our holistic approach to mentorship creates enduring, values-driven leaders groomed for a life of success with our seasoned life coaches and mentors.

Here are some of the benefits for our VOA Mentees (aka. Mentors-in-Training “MITs”):

  1. Leadership Development: This Mentorship provides MITs with personalized guidance to understand and refine their leadership styles fostering authenticity, ensuring that MITs lead with integrity and confidence. Also, MITs witness firsthand examples of leadership in real-world scenarios and exposure to effective leadership in action.
  1. Igniting Passion:
Inspiration and igniting the pursuit of passion. Mentors, with their experience and enthusiasm, inspire MITs to discover and pursue their passions. This guidance helps MITs align their professional journey with their true interests and aspirations. Through our Mentorship program, we foster an environment where passion is not only discovered but also sustained. Our MITs learn how to cultivate and leverage their intrinsic motivation, resulting in a more fulfilling and purpose-driven career.
  1. Cultivating Respect: Mentees gain insights into respectful and effective communication skills. They learn to express ideas with clarity, actively listen, and navigate diverse perspectives, creating a workplace culture grounded in mutual respect. Also, mentors guide MITs in appreciating diversity/differences, both in thoughts and background. This understanding promotes an inclusive environment where respect is a cornerstone of collaboration.
  1. Empathy Enhancement: VOA Mentorship emphasizes the importance of empathy in leadership and balancing Empathy with Decision-Making. Mentees learn to understand the perspectives of team members, fostering a culture of empathy that strengthens interpersonal relationships. By learning how to strike a balance between empathy and making tough decisions, our young MITs navigate complex situations while maintaining a compassionate approach with their peers and mentors.

  2. Drive for Excellence: VOA mentorship encourages MITs to set and pursue high standards of excellence in themselves and communities. Mentors provide insights into goal-setting, continuous improvement, and the pursuit of excellence in every endeavor. With a mindset that consistently seeks improvement and embraces challenges as opportunities for growth, MITs grasp the importance of creating a culture that values excellence.
