VOA Alternative Pathways - Non-Traditional Scholarships

We are thrilled to announce the opening of our non-traditional route Scholarships this year as an alternative education to University Degrees. Apply now and increase your chance of getting a marketable diploma! Complete this application process for the 2024/2025 academic year by August 9, 2024!

Our Scholarship application includes the requirement that each applicant must submit a one (1) page “Personal Essay” (containing: a biographical sketch, educational aspirations, and career goals).

Essays must be typed, double-spaced, with all margins at least one (1) inch and uploaded as a PDF document via the application form. The absence of essay will merit ZERO (0) points for that category.

Completed applications must be submitted no later than
August 21, 2024

The winners will be announced on our website and contacted individually by September 2024. Scholars will need to maintain their merits and qualifications yearly to maintain their scholarship.

Background Information

Values Of Affordable Education Foundation and charity is a non-profit organization registered in the United States of America (501 c) and Federal Republic of Nigeria. Our vision is to empower the society via STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) programs for secondary school students locally and internationally. Especially those who have socioeconomic difficulty and are under- represented in STEAM.

Types of Scholarships

- Bachelors Degree (Nigeria, Max 4 years)
- Alternative training (Software Engineering, Data Science, Product Management, Arts, Business, Tech, Digital Skills)

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be students of accredited high schools who have graduated or will graduate in the school year 2024/2025. Additionally, applying students must have at least Pass in Mathematics and English

Application Procedure

Completed applications must be completed by each applicant entirely and provide all supporting documents listed on the application form by the deadline date.

Notification Procedure

Finalists will receive individual notices of final results via the contact information (email address, phone number, and address) provided on the application form.

Selection Procedure

We anticipate many more applications for VOA Foundation Scholarship than we can accept, so applications will be competitive. Applications received will be screened and verified as deemed appropriate. Our Scholarship Committee will shortlist using a scale of one hundred (100) points considering academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community activities, and personal essay to competitively rank applicants and interviewed.

Scholarship Award

Scholarship awardees may enroll in the private universities/institutions in Nigeria. Upon completion of enrollment, the school registrar must send verification of admission, enrollment and curriculum to VOA Charity. After the required verifications are completed and finalized, individual award payments for the chosen scholars will be made directly to the private university.

Award Payment Limitation

The Scholarship Award is expirable and not transferable. If false information is provided on the application form or at any time to VOA, the scholarship will be terminated. Scholars must maintain the necessary requirements to retain the scholarship award, maintain good grades and be in good standing with the school.
